TRUST IN TENNESSEE
Trust in Tennessee is Tennessee’s State Use Program and was established by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1991. As designed, Trust in Tennessee is a preferential purchasing program giving limited priority to products and services provided by disabled workers and is administered by a Central Nonprofit Agency (CMRA). Any agency funded by the General Assembly, from municipalities up to State agencies, has the ability to purchase products and utilize services from this program.
At Prospect, Trust in Tennessee is administered to enhance and compliment vocational rehabilitative training for disabled individuals of all walks of life. The program seeks to reduce dependence on government assistance, prepare trainees for eventual work in the private sector, and promotes self-sufficiency and self-esteem. Typical trainees are not state funded, yet approximately 90% have a disability. Prospect’s Trust in Tennessee program ranges from Jackson to Monteagle, TN covering 13 counties and 80 facilities. The agency positions itself as the superior service and quality product provider in Middle Tennessee.
