Prospect is a community host site for the Wilson County/ Southside Elementary School Pre-Kindergarten classroom.

Wilson County Schools and Mid-Cumberland Head Start provide all aspects necessary to run the program including the classroom teacher, an educational assistant, materials, supplies, equipment, furniture, and food for the students. WCS has established a playground area on the Prospect, Inc. property.

Pre-K is accessible to all 4-year olds, with an emphasis on at-risk students and high priority communities. The Pre-K classroom can have up to 20 students.  The students follow the school system’s calendar schedule. 

Eligibility requirements of the Pre-K program:

• Family's economic status
• Students with disabilities
• English as a second language students
• Students in state custody or those educationally at-risk for failure
• Children with a parent in the military
• Children of teen parents
• Grandparents raising grandchildren
