Adult Day Services

Prospect’s Day Services PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE to adults with intellectual disabilities through employment, education, and community involvement.

Supported Employment is designed to assist adults in securing, training for, and maintaining competitive employment.

  • For the employee: provides on-the-job support for as long as needed to people with the most significant disabilities.  This is provided by a Job Coach and may include task-specific instruction, communication skills training, and transportation to and from the worksite.

  • For the business:  An opportunity to diversify the workplace and gain a valued employee.  Additional benefits include tax credits, quality customer service, task analysis, and job matching at no cost to the company.

Work Adjustment is provided to job seekers currently receiving services through the Tennessee Division of Rehabilitation Services.  The goal of this service is to re-introduce work skills and values to the job seeker who has little to no work history or for someone who has been out of work for an extended period of time.

Community Based activities enhance a person’s quality of life.  Activities include: 

  • Wellness training; aerobics, swimming, group exercise, and recreation
  • Volunteering: nursing homes, Community Help Center, animal Shelter
  • Social Activities:  sporting events, movies, dining out, group tours

Facility Based services emphasize vocational and therapeutic activities.  Opportunities include :

Job Club Membership
Peer Support Groups
Senior Activities
Occupational Therapy
Speech Therapy
Physical Therapy

These services are offered in Wilson, Smith and Dekalb Counties
